What's Next for Connexus? Rumour Has It….

One of the questions we get from time to time relates to our long term plans for Connexus.  What's up next?
Mostly, we're focused on our mission and vision:  creating a church unchurched people love to attend, and leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  We just love the fact that every Sunday is somebody's first Sunday, that people are growing in faith, coming to faith and getting baptized.  There is nothing in ministry that compares with the thrill of that!  And that's what we're going to continue doing year after year.
But we're also starting to think about future growth and expansion.  This summer, our leadership team and elders will be spending a good chunk of time exploring that question.  We've started doing some research into where we might meet when we outgrow the theaters (we're feeling growth pressures at each campus, especially in family ministry.)  We're starting to explore various options – available land, existing buildings and more.
A move isn't imminent –  we'll likely be in the theaters for a while yet.  We have a great relationship with Cineplex and the venue's awesome…we just want to responsibly plan ahead.
I know some of you are asking whether and when we might move  (we have had the discussion with some of our key volunteers in the last few months)…so I thought we'd give everyone an update.  (It was funny, we actually had a reporter call us this week about a building one of our team inquired about – man, word gets around fast!!!).  Again…no concrete plans yet with months of investigation ahead.  But we hope to have a proposal and plan together for the fall.  In the meantime, we'd appreciate your prayers.  And we'd love for you to keep inviting your friends to the theaters as we see people coming to faith and finding a great place to explore what it means to follow Jesus.
