What are you doing right now?

I hope you've got some fun things on the go – time with the kids, vacation (maybe) and some down time before the kids are back in school and life gets back to ‘normal'.
But what if you could do something right now that could change lives…maybe even your own life?
Here's what I'm asking you to do.  Every day for the remainder of 2011, pray for three people you personally know who – as best as you can tell – are not yet in a relationship with Jesus.  And then, before Christmas, invite them to come to church with you.
It's simple:

Pray for three

Invite at least one.

I'm asking you to do it.  I'm going to do it.  And we're inviting everyone who calls Connexus home to do it.
We cast the vision for this initiative with the last message of the I Wish series (it's called “I Wish God Would Save Everyone” – we'rel running it in Orillia this coming weekend).  You can watch it online here or download the free audio or video podcast via iTunes.
If you want a picture of what can happen when Christians start praying for their friends and inviting them to attend, you just need to listen to the baptism stories so far this year at Connexus.  At our most recent baptism service, most of the people we baptized weren't attending church 3 years ago.  But someone prayed for them and invited them.
That's exactly what happened to the Miller family, pictured above.  It was our privilege to baptize all of them – mom, dad and the kids together as each professed Jesus as their Saviour.  Amazing, powerful story.  (Watch for their baptism videos this fall at our services).
I just love seeing stories like theirs.
So, will you join me?  Pray for three.  Invite at least one.   I promise you this: we're going to kick off the fall with a bang.  While every weekend is a great weekend to invite a friend, we are going to be hyperfocused on creating a great experience for every guest moving forward this year.  So you are you going to pray for?  Who will you invite?
I think it could be an unbelievable year as we do this together!
Can't wait to see what's next!
