Only six months ago, we were gathering with COVID restrictions. It’s so great to have those days in our rearview mirror!
As we look forward, we're asking:
How do we make Connexus the easiest church in Orillia to invite your neighbour to?
How do we reach Orillia with the hope of Jesus?
Why? Because Jesus is FOR them, and we want to be a church that is FOR them, too.
So what does that look like?
If you're connected to our Orillia location, here's the plan for the rest of 2022 as Joseph laid it out last Sunday. It's going to be a great season.
Optimized New Service Time with Sticky Community
On Sundays, we want an optimal service time to invite your guests, plus time afterwards for them to connect and begin to find community in the lobby. We believe that a new 10:00 am service will help us accomplish both of these goals starting Sunday, October 23rd.
Here's what the new morning schedule will look like:
9:00 – 9:30 am – New volunteer huddle service (if you volunteer, you'll hear more soon)
10:00 am – New service time for you and your guests followed by time to connect in the lobby afterwards
We're confident this will create the best experience for your friends and their kids in this season of our church.
As we continue to grow through 2023, we'll look to create more seats and times, and anticipate moving to two services. When that time comes, we’ll give you lots of notice.
Three Fresh Invite Opportunities
In addition to our Sunday services, we have three fantastic opportunities to invite friends ahead. Two of them are brand new in Orillia!
Mega Awesome Costume Party for kids is always a great Sunday (Oct. 30th) to invite friends. Kids love to have fun and wear their costumes an extra day!
FOR the Hungry Event in Orillia! For the very first time on Sunday, Dec. 4th, we’re bringing this initiative to Orillia. People love to invite their friends to FOR the Hungry, and having it on a Sunday morning allows your friends to experience a bit of church in a movie theatre before we start packing food. This is going to be a great morning to invite friends and feed people locally.
Jingle Jam is coming to Orillia! This interactive event was a hit with new young families last year when we hosted it in Barrie. So, we’ve decided to host it in Orillia this year! You’ll want to invite your friends with kids to mark this on the calendar: Friday, Dec. 9th. More details to come.
A Magical Christmas Eve FOR Orillia on December 23rd
We're back at the Opera House with Christmas Eve in Orillia on Friday, Dec. 23rd. We're excited to have the opportunity to invite friends and family to this special evening. It's a great time to start praying about who you could invite. We can't wait to share the hope of Jesus that night.
It's such a great season to keep our focus on being FOR Orillia and reaching out to those around us.
Here's what we're asking:
1. Be praying about who you can invite to join us on Sunday mornings, to Jingle Jam or Christmas Eve.
2. Spread the word to your Connexus friends.
