In the next few weeks, we're going to give people at Connexus a chance to give this Christmas with a one week series we're calling "Giving Christmas Away". We're totally looking forward to that, in part because it will make an immediate difference (families globally and locally will be impacted), but i part because it helps change us. I hope we are being changed in the type of people who give their lives away.
Louanne Black is one of those Connexus people who loves to serve others. Your may know her as a Waumba Land volunteer at our Orillia Campus. But she also sacrifices to take months off work every few years to serve internationally. Right now, she is in South Africa helping rescue orphans. If you check out this video on www.theglobeandmail.com, at the 20 second mark you'll see a very Canadian looking woman in a red and white top holding a baby – that's Louanne. Serving Christ by serving others.
Whether you drive a truck to haul gear to our campuses, set up or tear down, lead mission trips, lead a small group, serve coffee, or run a sound board, you're likely discovering something amazing – when you give your life away, you actually find it (Matthew 10.39).
