WHATS IN YOUR WALLET?
READ Mark 12: 41-44
REFLECT
Ever been in church, waiting for that popcorn collection bucket to come around and feeling anxious about how much money you are going to put in, knowing that you are putting in the $5 bill you have in your wallet instead of the $20 bill? I don’t know about you, but I’ve been there a few times and I know how hard it can be to part with that hard earned $20. But the Bible shows us that it pleases God when we give.
In Mark 12:41-44, Jesus sees a poor widow come to the collection box at the temple and give everything that she had to give. To Jesus, this mattered more than the givings of rich people who gave just a small percentage of what they owned. The poor widow gave everything back to God because she knew that everything she had came from God. The poor widow gave boldly back to God even though it was all that she had.
BOTTOM LINE
The widow gave boldly back to God because all that she had came from Him.
LIVE
In today’s day and age it can be hard to give boldly to God because, let’s face it, we all want stuff. But we know that all we are given is a gift from God and part of that should be given back to Him.
PRAY
Pray for wisdom in how you spend your money so that you can give more boldly back to God.
