“SEA”, I TOLD YOU WE’D MAKE IT

REFLECT

Have you ever been in a situation where you are standing in front of a wall and there’s no way around, under or over? I went to India awhile back for a missions trip and when I got to the airport, I went to the ticket counter. I handed my passport to the agent and she told me that it was in bad shape and unacceptable. She could not let me on the plane. I tried to talk my way onto the plane but it didn’t work. The people I was travelling with got on the plane and left that day. I went home.

Have you ever been so certain of something – everything was going so smoothly – then suddenly there is a major problem. It comes right out of nowhere and you just couldn’t prepare for it. That is the moment you have to make a decision. Are you going to keep moving in the direction you know God wants you to move, or are you going to let that “sea” or “wall” be the thing that stops you?

I decided that India was where God wanted me to be. I went to a passport office the next day and that didn’t work, so the travel agent booked me on a different plane the same day to try a different way. I did get on that plane and I arrived in India the same day. Those ahead of me did arrive also, just a little later. I could have quit. I could have chalked it up to experience, but I didn’t. I kept going in the direction God showed me and He removed the obstacle from my path.

BOTTOM LINE

Moses and the people of Israel went across on dry ground through the Red Sea, and  then the Egyptian army was destroyed in that same Sea right behind the Isrealites. Every one of Gods people made it across. All that was required from them was boldness to take a step in the right direction.

LIVE

Boldness always starts with a first step and faith provides us with the strength to take that step every time. Don’t see only the obstacle – understand that God will get you where He’s calling you to be because He is there with you all the way.

PRAY

God, let me take that step you’re inviting me to take today. I will always trust you to be with me and get me there.
