Community Groups – More than Just Eating Pie

So if you've been around the last few weeks (or will be in September), you'll hear us talking about community groups.  There are tons of reasons we think it's a great idea to get involved in a community group, but here's another angle.

One group spent the summer making a difference in the fight against modern slavery.  Read here about the journey Joanne, Steve and their group made this summer in their innovative Justice Pie Project.

Last fall we shared a vision with our community group leaders that community groups could be the place where people found areas locally and globally to make a difference.  Some groups have served at local food banks, at the Lighthouse Men's Shelter in Orillia, and Joanne and Steve's group innovated and created the Justice Pie Project.  Love how Connexus people are showing the love and compassion of Christ here and around the world.

In addition to building great relationships, growing closer to Christ and growing in your faith, community groups are a great place to make a difference in the wider community.

Your chance to get into a community group comes on Sunday, September 20th in Barrie and Sunday, September 27th in Orillia and Muskoka (details here).
