I love it when people not only begin to follow Jesus, but when Jesus then turns their lives upside down. I want you to hear Kaitlyn’s story. She is 18 and attends our Orillia campus, and she wrote this note to her church family at Connexus. Kaitlyn’s picture is below. She’s with a Japanese university student she met on her last trip to Tokyo:
Dear Connexus Family,
I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about how Connexus has affected my journey with Christ. My family joined Connexus when I was about 14, and I remember threatening my parents “If we don’t switch churches, I will stop going to church!” Since convincing my parents to drive 45 minutes to church I’ve changed dramatically. Even still, I never imagined that I would get to a place where I would be willing to say, “God, I will follow you anywhere” and mean it.
My journey began in October when I travelled to China with Seventy Two. After that, I couldn’t deny the huge passion God had put on my heart for Asia. In April I flew to Japan with Mission to Japan and lived there for a month and a half. It was in Japan that God began to reveal His plans for me.
I will be travelling back to Tokyo to work with a church called Jesus Life House for a minimum of 6 months this August. It is so amazing to see how God is moving in a country with a population .03% Christian. This nation is starving for Christ’s love, and lacking severely in people to share it!
I would like to ask for prayers and support over this new journey in Christ. If you are interested in supporting me or learning more, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d be more than happy to speak to you!

Kaitlyn will be one of the people we’re baptizing on August 10th. Even more reason to celebrate!
