Why This Summer Might Be Just What Your Family Needs

By the time summer rolls around, most parents feel two things: excitement for a slower rhythm, and pressure to make it meaningful.

You want your kids to have fun, but also stay grounded. You want them to rest, but not get lost in the scroll. You want them to grow in their faith, but you’re unsure how to help make that happen outside of Sunday mornings.

We see you, and this summer at Connexus, we want to partner with you to make it count.

Here’s how we’re helping families build connection, faith, and a lot of fun this summer in Next Gen.

1. Park Meetups That Make Wednesdays and Thursdays Easy Wins

If you’re a parent or caregiver of young kids, summer can feel… long. We’ve got something to help with that!

Park Meetups are casual, weekly hangouts where parents, caregivers, and kids can connect, play, and build friendships. No big plans needed—just show up, bring your coffee, and let the kids run wild while you chat with other grown-ups who get it.

Wednesday in Barrie
📍 Huronia North Park – 311 Huronia Road
🕙 10:00–11:30 am

Thursday in Orillia
📍 West Ridge Sports Complex – 100 University Ave

2. Camp Sundays Every Week in WaumbaLand & UpStreet

Every Sunday in WaumbaLand and UpStreet this summer is like a mini day at camp! With our theme LIVE IT OUT, your kids will discover how to love like Jesus through hands-on stories, music, and weekly take-home surprises like:

🧃 Stickers
🕶 Sunglasses
🛍 Bracelets
🎨 Bags and more!

We’ll explore big ideas like:

  • Praying for others
  • Showing kindness
  • Forgiving and serving
  • Living out their faith—even at age 3!

It’s fun, impactful, and a summer your kids won’t want to miss.

3. Middle Schoolers Have Events + Meaningful Conversations

In Transit (Grades 5–8), we combine meaningful teaching with exciting summer events—because middle schoolers need both.

Teaching Series
July: “Free People” – A series about responsibility and freedom.
August: “Find Your People” – A series about choosing great friends.

Each week helps them make wise choices, grow in faith, and explore what it means to follow Jesus in real life.

Summer Verse:

“For you have been called to live in freedom… use your freedom to serve one another in love.” – Galatians 5:13 (NLT)

Events Just for Transit Students

From wild water parks to bowling and Blue Jays games, we’ve got experiences that help students stay connected all summer long.

Wet & Wild Waterpark Day – July 23
Transit Pool Party – August 17

It’s open to students going into Grade 5 and those just graduating Grade 8.

4. InsideOut is Building a Summer of Connection, Faith + Fun

Let’s be real—summer for high schoolers can go one of two ways: meaningful or… mostly screen time. That’s why InsideOut is creating space for students to experience God, find friends, and have fun!
The Best Way In?
Grab the InsideOut Summer Passjust $100 for access to every event (a savings of over $35) or sign up for each event separately starting July 8th.

Canada’s Wonderland, BBQ Nights, Bowling, Blue Jays Game, Campfire Worship Night.

It’s all open to students entering Grade 9 and those just graduating Grade 12.

So… What If This Summer Becomes the One They Remember?

Not because it was packed with activities, but because it was filled with connections.
Not because they stayed busy, but because they felt seen.
Not because of perfect plans, but because of moments that pointed them to Jesus.

That’s what this summer at Connexus Next Gen is all about—and we’d love to partner with you to make it unforgettable.

We’ll see you this summer. ☀️
