The Family Day Challenge *Enter to Win*

We’re a week away from Family Day and Connexus has a challenge for your family–Make Family Day a technology free day!

Phones, TV, computers, tablets and many other devices we use every day can be both a barrier and a tool to maximizing family relationships.  Family Day is a day created for you to connect with your family face to face, let’s take advantage of it and set aside our tech tools/toys for a day!

WIN A FAMILY PRIZE

On Feb 21st, the day after Family Day, post your Family Day non-tech adventures on blog.connexuscommunity.com for a chance to win a family prize courtesy of Connexus!  You could choose from Toronto Zoo Day Passes, Ontario Science Center Day Passes, Barrie Colt’s Tickets, or Dinner Out As A Family.

Well our tech free day started off with a big family breakfast, along with our sons friend. The teenagers found it challenging to go without their cells but they did manage to put them aside for 6 straight hours (and since they are never far apart, we as parents, thought this was a huge success lol) We have a very gracious neighbour that has allowed us to tap his maple trees for homemade syrup so we spent 4 hours in the bush tapping trees, going for walks and chasing our new dog. What a beautiful day outside! When we got home it was just too nice to go inside so Sydney and I made homemade bannock while Casey & Walker started the bonfire in the backyard, we roasted our bannock than ate supper around the fire. We were planning to night ski at Horseshoe but with all the fresh air we were exhausted. We played a few games of cards and were all off to bed by 9:30pm. Thanks for the great idea to put the technology aside for a day and spend some real quaility time together as a family. <
