Love Moves: Connexus Students Making a Difference

Love Moves is a part of our student ministry that celebrates serving the Church, the local community, and the global community.  We have a team of InsideOut (grade 9-12) students who are only 2 weeks away from their “Love Moves: Compassion Trip" to Guatemala! They are counting down the days. They are looking forward to working with children at a special needs orphanage/hospital, running a community day camp, and fitting wheelchairs. Thanks to all of you who’ve been supporting us along the way. We truly believe that when we serve like Jesus on the outside, it changes our hearts to be more like Jesus on the inside.  Here’s a few more bios so you can get to know more of these incredible students.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie is a grade 11 student in Barrie whose favourite subject is outdoor recreation. She loves the world of dance and has been dancing since she was very young—it’s her passion! One of her favourite snacks is peanut butter and cookies. The thing that Mackenzie likes most about InsideOut is that she can “talk about her faith and belief in God without worrying about what others think”. Over the course of the Compassion Trip to Guatemala she hopes that God teaches her more about being grateful for what God has blessed her with here in Canada.

Catherine

Catherine is a grade 10 student in Orillia whose favourite subject is music. She’s been preparing for this trip in the midst of her busy sports and music schedule. Piano, hockey, wrestling and spending time in the summer at camp are all lots of fun! The thing she likes most about InsideOut is the friendship and relationships, and how “we tackle God’s Word and inquire about it in depth”. She’s praying that on the trip God would teach her about “humility and respect”.

Elissa

Elissa is a grade 12 student in Orillia who loves figure skating. For her there’s nothing like it! It’s challenging and it keeps her fit. She also loves chocolate. Her favourite part of InsideOut is “talking with her small group and getting to know other Christians her age”. On this trip she hopes that God stretches her and challenges her faith. She’s also praying that God shows her His love in new and great ways.

Please be praying for us as we prepare and travel on the March Break!
