Day 37 – November 15, 2012 – 40 Day Spiritual Journey

FAITH AND TRUST
READ Joshua 6: 1-27
REFLECT
“Ephesians 3: 20 God is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.”

In the summer of 1996 a new adventure was about to lead us on a path that would test our faith and trust, not only in our decisions but in the very God who created us.

We were being drawn to Western Canada by a feeling and passionate desire to make a real difference in a scientific community. With our hearts on fire and filled with desire, our dream was happening. Little did we know life was going to take a very different direction than what we were imagining. What God was planting was not yet revealed to us. We only wanted everything we’d ever dreamed of from years ago.

God’s tender calling was quietly connecting us to a life of serving Him and others. Daily our faith and trust grew, as we experienced various hurdles to overcome. He was and is so faithful if only we listen and obey. “The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands”….Psalm 19: 1-2. Mom always said, “You can’t beat Nature.”

With our dream shattered and in pieces but still ever faithful in our God, we returned to Ontario in the summer of 1997 not realizing the bounty of blessings we were about to receive. They began small and grew as the Lord has used us in so many ways to touch and encourage others.

BOTTOM  LINE

Trusting in the Lord has shown and continues to encourage us to be more obedient to his gentle promptings.
