This Sunday we have some incredible people who are taking a big step in their faith journey – they’re getting baptized. To say we’re excited is a bit of an understatement.
It’s a big step for people as they symbolize outwardly what’s happened inwardly – that Christ has become their Lord and Saviour. Some interesting facts about this baptism:
- 24 people are stepping forward for baptism. Many of them did not even attend church 18 months ago.
- Among those being baptized are former atheists, agnostics and a Hindu who have come to faith because a friend invited them to Connexus.
- The average age of those being baptized is 27. Who says younger adults aren’t interested in Christ and his church?
For all of you who have been a part of this incredible journey at Connexus over the last two and half years, who have set up and torn down our portable environments, who have led small groups, prayed for the church, given sacrificially, welcomed people each Sunday, brewed coffee, ran cables and cameras and macbooks, we just don’t want you to miss this. For all of you who have invited friends or are ready to invite friends, we don’t want you to miss this.
It’s just great to see that God is moving and that we get to celebrate together what God is doing in our midst.
Sunday…6:30 p.m. at Bass Lake. Directions and a map are here. Don’t miss it! Come a bit early and bring lawn chairs. It’s going to be awesome.
