You CAN’T Miss the Baptism Service

Okay, I have a new favourite activity at Connexus: baptism.

Tonight, we filmed a dozen baptism stories (from a teenager to a 70 year old) in preparation for our baptism service next week.  Over and over again tonight,  I was incredibly moved.  Other times, we were laughing out loud. Most of all, I was amazed at what God has been doing in people's lives.

Our actual baptism service is next Thursday, June 19th at 7 p.m..  For details, including location and direction,  click here.  Whatever you do, budget the time to be there.  Everyone's invited for some music, scripture and then a dozen baptisms.  (And, there will be cake!)  We filmed stories tonight.  We'll film the actual baptisms next week. Then over the course of the summer, we'll be playing back people's stories and their baptisms via video at our campuses on Sunday mornings.

Can't wait to see what God does with all of this, but I promise you I found it incredibly amazing to see what God is doing in people's hearts and lives.

I love being part of this community!

Ok….we're too late this time around, is it too soon to ask when the next baptism will be? :o) Mom and I and my kids were going to try this time around but busy schedules wouldn't permit. The 4 of us would love to get baptised by you so we hope there will be another soon. Looks like there was a big interest so if God will have it, you'll be planning another! Can one be 'too young' to get baptised? We listened to the CD and we weren't sure if under teens can make that big decision.

    Hi Jen,

It was a great night last night. We'd love to talk about baptism with you and your kids. Our understand of scripture is that baptism is open to all who believe. If a child is old enough to invite Jesus into his or her life, then the child is old enough to be baptized.

Just fill out the forms on the website and we'll schedule your baptisms (along with others) for August. We'll likely announce the date next week.

Thanks for wanting to take this step in faith! Excited for you and everyone else who's ready to publicly declare Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Thanks for the bbq today guys! It sure is great that you put so much effort into making us volunteers feel so appreciated! Does this mean the volunteers should throw a BBQ for the staff sometime? :o) Seeing as though there are less of you I could do steak! lol

Carey, I'd love to talk to you about the baptism with the kids when you can! I can't wait til August as long as it's not the 16-23 as Mom can't make it then. I'm very excited about the whole thing but we're a bit nervous about the video….we don't feel we have a cool enough story! :o)

Already looking forward to next Sunday…
