If you’ve been around Connexus over the past few weeks, you’ve likely been a part of being actively FOR our city in some way. If you haven’t, let me give you a glimpse of the amazing wave of generosity that we’ve experienced so far!
…You doubled our food goal and brought in over 9200 pounds of food! Almost 5 tons!
…You are closing in on our goal of 500 volunteers to serve our city!
…Many of you gathered to pray this week for the people of Barrie and Orillia!
And this Sunday is going to be BIG!
Together, we are going to try to raise $200,000 in a single day. I know that sounds crazy. But You're generous. You can do it.
Our minimum goal is $125,000, but our stretch goal is $200,000 and it would allows us to take things to the next level. For example…
…our Christmas Eve marketing would be boosted to reach hundreds of thousands of people in our communities and beyond!
…the Food Bank could count on buying fresh produce and meat for families beyond Christmas!
…we could immediately schedule the workers for our Waumba Land expansion to reach 50% more kids!
…our production team could order equipment that opens doors for new music to reach the next generation!
The opportunities to get behind the people in our city are in place. The rest is up to you. It’s a mission critical moment for us. We need 100% participation.
Everyone’s available resources are not the same, but the call of our faith to stretch for radical generosity with what we have is the same. As you pray about what to give, for some of us stretching yourself to radical generosity for your city will mean a gift of $500 or $1,000 for some of us it’s $5,000, $10,000, or $25,000. We will need all of those gifts to reach our goal.
What I’m asking is that you ask yourself what you would be willing to give to the FORtheCity offering, and then pray and ask God what stretching yourself to grow in radical generosity would really mean.
Then, on Sunday bring your best gift with you to our services. It’s going to be an exciting week as we show our city just how crazy generous Christians can be.
