Meet Three Students Headed On An Adventure

We’re so excited about the team of 13 students and leaders who are headed on the “Love Moves Compassion Trip” to Guatemala over the March Break!  These high school students are all a apart of InsideOut, our environment for grades 9-12, and are busy preparing for all that God has in store.  Serving special needs children in orphanages, helping distribute wheelchairs, and running day camps are a big part of the 8 days.  We wanted to give you a chance to get to know a few of the students.  Here’s the first 3 we want to introduce to you—Lindsay, Alex, and Arielle.

Lindsay

Lindsay is a grade 12 student who attends a high school in Orillia and her favourite classes are music and fitness.  She loves to listen to music and reading and at one time had a pet pig named “Kyle”.

What Lindsay likes most about InsideOut is “the chance to learn about God alongside friends where we can share thoughts and grow in God together.  The music is also really good!”  What she hopes to get most out of the trip is “ to expand my worldview and how God is active all over the world–I hope to be humbled by this experience.”

 Alex

Alex attends our Barrie campus and her favourite subject in school is math.  She is in grade 11 and spends a lot of her time outside school hanging out with friends and riding horses.  Ironically she’s afraid of cows.

What Alex likes about InsideOut is “the music, the small groups, and all of the amazing people.”  She’s looking forward to the trip as an opportunity to “learn more about what others think about God and grow in my faith.”

 Arielle

Arielle is a grade 12 student who loves music.  She spends much of her time singing, playing guitar, writing songs, and listing to music.  You may have seen her singing in one of our bands on Sunday morning.  She’s also a list maker who loves to organize things.

Her favourite thing about InsideOut is that it’s a comfortable environment where anyone can come and be connected and experience love.  Arielle is praying that on this trip she will grow in her relationship with God.  She also hopes “that I will be extremely humbled and have a huge culture shock that will teach me to be more thankful for what I have.”

We’re so excited about how God is going to use this team and how He will use it to transform lives.  Please join us in praying for each of these students as they prepare for this adventure!

"Love Moves" is our environment for students who want to serve the church, the local community, and the global community.  To learn more about our student ministry for high school students (InsideOut) click here.
