“irresistible” event in Muskoka was . . .

. . . fantastic!

What a great night we had last night!  The turn out was great.  The music was rockin'.  Carey gave a great message.  The snacks were incredible.  Thumbs up all around!

I saw a couple people with cameras last night . . . if you have a picture . . . send one picture that captures a memory of the night to me and I'll post it.  You can email the photos to [email protected]

As I was driving into Bracebridge I snapped this photo of the Connexus trailer driving to the event!  I got so pumped to see our trailer in Muskoka and heading to the event! I'll hold onto that memory for a long time!

The "irresistible" event was absolutely amazing! I've been waiting for this moment for a very long time and was just so happy to see it finally arrive. The band played very tight and the sound couldn't have been better which just added to the worship time in a way that can't really be expressed in words. The energy in the room was very high. Carey's message was very clear, we need to accept change so that we can be changed and in turn meet people where they are at so they can meet the Jesus that we all know and love.

Regardless of where this goes from here I think that Connexus has done all that they possibly can to start this thing in Muskoka. Now its up to us and God to continue this journey so that it will see the lost come to a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thanks for investing in this everyone!!!

The evening was fantastic — a terrific worship event which left many, many people asking when we can do it again and how long before we'll see Connexus Muskoka taking place every Sunday.

Best of all are the stories of people who came in just to check it out, people who were walking past and saw the trailer, and decided to come back to see what this Sunday night church-in-a-theatre thing was.

At work on Monday, two of us who were there were discussing it with a third colleague who had hoped to make it but couldn't. As we talked about the band opening with a rocking rendition of U2's Even Better Than The Real Thing, other people joined the conversation. "What kind of church is this?" asked one of them. As we explained what Connexus was like, several people said they'd like to check this church out. Some of them attend church elsewhere, but others are not involved in church at all. And that's really what it's all about, isn't it?

It was such a thrill to be part of Irresistible last weekend. It really felt like "one church in multiple locations" with all the different people chipping in for setup and serving in various ways.
It brought a tear to my eye as we were playing the first few songs and hearing the crowd singing out full tilt…God is good, and I really felt it, last Sunday night.
Now, I need to fill out my commitment to service sheet…it seems some are on "Muskoka time" still and haven't gotten to it!!!
