If Our Buildings Opened, We Would Miss Out On Some Really Big Stuff!

The Connexus leadership has decided that our church building will not be opening at this time, and I’m really glad we have.

Let me explain.

Do I miss seeing everyone face to face? Absolutely. But, I know our services would not be a great experience for our friends or for us.

50-100 people spread out in rooms designed for 200-350
Required masks
No kids ministry
Talking with others prohibited
No singing
An immediate exit after the service
Constant disinfecting, etc.

The list of safety requirements is a long one, and frankly requires a lot of effort for an environment that isn’t appealing, especially for your unchurched friends.

At the same time, as we redeploy our energy, this season is making some incredible things possible. Check out our YouTube views if you want to see what I mean. The last three weeks have seen an incredible increase in growth again as thousands of unchurched people have joined us from around the world. Sunday was a record!

Not only are we reaching people all over the world, but we’ve got a BIG goal for the summer right here in Simcoe County. We want to see more people meet Jesus here at home.

Our goal is to grow our local online attendance by 20% by September 6th.

That’s right. We want to reach as many unchurched people as possible right here in our own backyard with the hope of Jesus. While our average local YouTube reach on a Sunday is recently just over 1,000 views, we want to take it to over 1,200 local views.

How are we going to do this? That’s a great question.

I’m excited to be releasing three more blog posts over the next week and let you in on all that we have planned for the summer.

We can’t wait to see what God has in store for you and for our church this summer!
