Hey…I hope you are enjoying and celebrating the baptism videos on our blog. There have been quite a few of them again this fall, and I'm so excited that we get to share in the lives that are being changed.
One of the things (not the only thing, but one of them anyway) that changes lives is God's Word. At times I am burdened by being a preacher of the Word of God…but mostly I am grateful for the opportunity.

I was reading through 1 Timothy this morning. Verses 5 and 6 reveal what Paul was really shooting for when he taught God's Word. He wanted to do two things:
- Help people live a life of faith in God.
- Fill people with love (the love of God).
I love that. The passage also makes clear he was not interested in endless speculation, meaningless arguments, or people positioning themselves to be ‘great teachers'. I love Paul's heart on this. What can we preach that would help everyone live a life of deep faith (trust) in God and live more alive in God's love.
