Easter 2009: This week @ Connexus!

It's been an incredibly great start to 2009 at Connexus.  We're still getting comments every day on the Orange Family series, and encouraged to see so many new families joining us each week.  Incredible days we're in.

And now we're in a spectacular season.  It's Easter this week – a time to reflect on the power and meaning on the death and resurrection of Jesus.  A great time to engage and invite friends.

We are hosting SEVEN services this weekend for you, your family and your friends.

Just a reminder about what's up for Easter weekend at Connexus.

Good Friday – 10:00 a.m.
We have a single good Friday service at our Barrie and Orillia campuses, at 10:00 a.m. The service will give people space and time to reflect on the incredible grace of God displayed in the cross.  We'll have some great music, communion and a message that we think will make you think in fresh ways about Good Friday.

UpStreet and Waumba Land will run during the Good Friday services.  Xtreme students and InsideOut student can participate in the adult service.

Easter Sunday – 8:30, 10:00 and 6:00 p.m.
Come watch us shoot the Easter bunny!  (Okay, we're not actually going to shoot the Easter bunny.  I was just seeing if you're actually reading this. I promise no Easter bunny will be harmed or even mentioned during our Easter services.)

But don't be late.  We have a powerful opening number planned at each service.  We're in the middle of High Drama, our current series, and I can't imagine higher drama than events surrounding Jesus during that first Easter.  So much hung in the balance that weekend 2000 years ago.  We'll explore that and celebrate it together this weekend!

Service times are 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. in Barrie and Orillia, and 6:00 p.m. in Bracebridge. If you are attending the Barrie or Orillia campuses, please consider coming to our 8:30 gathering so we can open up more space at 10:00 a.m. for guests.

So – that's what's up.

Above all, take some time to reflect on the meaning of this week in your personal life.  Then come ready to remember and celebrate this weekend, Friday and Sunday.

And to ALL of you who are volunteering this weekend when you could be taking time off – THANK YOU. The investment you are making will alter people's lives forever.

– Carey
