How to Make the Most of Easter at Connexus This Year

Let's be honest — Easter can sneak up on you.

Between work, family plans, and everything else competing for your attention, it's easy for the weekend to arrive, pass, and leave you feeling like you missed something.

This year, we don't want that to happen.

At Connexus, Easter isn't just something you attend — it's something you experience. A weekend where hope feels less like a concept and more like something real. Where the weight you've been carrying gets acknowledged, and something meaningful gets offered in its place.

We've created two distinct experiences this Easter. One to help you slow down and sit with what Jesus actually did. One to celebrate what that means for your life right now. They're designed to work together, and we think you'll feel that when you're here.

1. Start with Good Friday

Most people expect Good Friday to feel heavy and religious. What they usually find is something more honest — and more quietly powerful — than they anticipated.

It's the kind of service that cuts through the noise and gives you space to actually feel something. If you're carrying guilt, regret, or the sense that you're not quite where you want to be, that space matters more than you might think.

2. Celebrate on Easter Sunday (or Saturday Night)

Easter Sunday — and our Saturday night service — is full celebration.

Uplifting, warm, and genuinely designed for everyone. Whether you've been around church for years or you're just seeing what this is all about, you'll find a place here.

SERVICE TIMES

Barrie: Saturday 7:00pm; Sunday 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am & 12:30pm

Orillia: Sunday 8:00, 9:30 & 11:00am

Online: Sunday 8:00 & 9:30am

And families with kids (Age 3–Grade 4) can enjoy an indoor Easter Egg Hunt! Barrie: 8:00am & 12:30pm; Orillia: 8:00am

3. Arrive Early

Easter is one of our biggest weekends of the year. Parking fills, families need check-in time, and the Easter Sunday coffee line is real.

Give yourself an extra 15 minutes. You'll have space to breathe, get settled, and actually be present when things begin — instead of arriving frazzled and missing the first few minutes.

4. Bring Someone with You

Easter is one of the most natural weekends to invite someone who wouldn't normally consider church.

You don't need a script. A simple “Hey, want to come?” is enough. If they say yes, our team will take it from there, making sure they feel welcome and at ease from the moment they walk in.

Think about who in your life could benefit from an experience like this. Someone probably comes to mind.

5. Come Ready to Receive Something

Easter is the story of Jesus taking everything that holds people back — the mistakes, the regret, the shame, the feeling that a fresh start isn't really available — and making a way through all of it.

Not as a concept. As something that can actually change the way you live.

So come open. Give it a real chance. Easter has a way of meeting people exactly where they are — and not leaving them there.

We'd love for you to be part of it.
