How You Make the Most of Easter Weekend at Connexus

Let’s be honest—Easter weekend can sneak up on you. Between family plans, spring activities, and juggling invites, it’s easy to let this powerful moment slip by without it sinking in.

But not this year.

At Connexus, we believe Easter can be more than just a long weekend—it can be a turning point for you and others.

This year, we’ve created two unique experiences to help you remember the death and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus in a way that’s personal, powerful, and welcoming for everyone you invite to come with you.

Here's how to make the most of your Easter weekend.

1. Choose the Right Service for You (and Your Guest)

We’re offering two distinct experiences this weekend:

Good Friday – We’ll be reflecting on the crucifixion of Jesus and experiencing communion.

Barrie: 9:00am 10:30am, and 11:58am
Orillia/Online: 9:00am and 10:30am

Easter Sunday – Celebrating the risen Jesus!

Barrie: 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am, 12:30 pm (Bonus: Easter Egg Hunt for Kids at 8:00 am and 12:30 pm)
Orillia: 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am (Bonus: Easter Egg Hunt for Kids at 8:00 am)
Online: 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am

2. Arrive Early to Beat the Rush

Parking, check-ins, and getting settled can take a few extra minutes—especially when services fill up. Arriving early = less stress and a better seat. Simple as that.

3. Inviting Someone New? Let Us Help.

Bringing a guest is a big deal—and we’re here for it. When you arrive, stop by the New Here Kiosk with your friend. Our team is ready to welcome them, show them around, and make sure their first impression of church is great.

4. No Guest? You're Still a Key Player.

If your friend couldn’t make it this time, don’t worry. You showed courage and faith by inviting them—and that’s the beginning of a story.

You can still significantly impact a new guest by attending a service where we typically have more room. Attending our Easter services at 8:00 am (Barrie/Orillia) or 12:30 pm (Barrie) is a big help. We’ve even got bonus Easter Egg hunts for the kids at these service times 🙂

5. Don’t Miss the Personal Invitation

This weekend isn’t just about logistics and guests. It’s about you and Jesus, too.

Carve out time—maybe on Good Friday, maybe early Sunday morning—to slow down. Pray. Read the accounts of the first Easter in scripture. Reflect on Jesus's love and sacrifice. Let Easter move from your calendar into your heart. Whether you're attending for the first time or inviting someone who is, Easter is a chance to experience the power of hope, forgiveness, and new life we find in Jesus.

We’re praying for you and can’t wait to see what God does this weekend.
