Finding More Than Energy: Why Jesus Offers A Different Kind Of Peace, Healing, And Purpose

Chances are, if you’re spiritually curious today, you’ve come across practices like chakras, reiki, or crystals. They’re becoming more popular as people search for inner peace, energy, and healing. It’s understandable—they offer something tangible, a way to feel connected and grounded. But here’s a question to consider: what if there’s another path that offers much more than what these practices promise?

Let’s talk about why following Jesus presents a different—perhaps even deeper—path to peace, healing, and a sense of purpose in a world that often feels a little out of control.

1. Peace That Isn’t about Perfect Alignment

Chakras, for example, are believed to be energy centres within us. When they’re balanced, you’re supposed to feel whole, calm, and in harmony. And practices like meditation or yoga are additional ways people try to achieve this balance. But if you’ve tried it, you know that it can be hard to maintain. Life happens, you lose it on the kids, you’re late for an appointment—things get messy, and inner peace feels as though it can slip away as quickly as it arrives.

What if peace doesn’t have to be so dependent on getting everything “just right”? That’s where Jesus offers something different. He promises a peace that doesn’t rely on perfect alignment or a serene state of mind. It’s not something we have to earn or work toward; it’s actually a gift. Jesus once said, “My peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives” (John 14:27). His peace is about receiving rather than achieving, a kind of groundedness that doesn’t vanish when life gets difficult. The death and resurrection of Jesus mean he’s provided a way for us to find forgiveness and healing of the sin and brokenness in our life, look forward with anticipation to eternal life, and experience a personal relationship with God—providing peace no matter our day-to-day circumstances.

For someone searching for inner balance, that’s a compelling alternative—a peace that’s stable, not based on how “aligned” you feel, but rooted in a deeper, consistent love.

2. Healing That’s Personal, Not Just Energetic

Reiki is often used for channeling healing energy and reducing stress. And if you’ve ever experienced it, you know there’s comfort in knowing someone cares enough to want to help you feel better. But at its core, reiki draws on a universal energy source, not on a personal connection. In fact, some would argue it’s dangerous not to understand what is behind that vague energy source.

Here’s where the difference with Jesus stands out. When people followed Jesus, they found that His approach to healing was deeply relational and personal. For Him, healing wasn’t about channeling energy but showing compassion (ex. Mark 1:40-45 NLT). Jesus cared for people individually and personally, and His care extended beyond just the physical to reach emotional and spiritual wounds, too. It’s healing that goes deeper than what happens on the outside because it touches who you truly are.

For someone exploring healing, Jesus offers a type of wholeness that goes beyond just feeling good physically; it’s about finding healing for the mind, body, and soul, knowing there’s a God who sees you and cares for you personally.

3. Connection without Objects: Going to the Source, Not the Symbols

Crystals are beautiful, and people are drawn to them for their unique properties. Many believe that different stones can enhance love, peace, or focus. And it’s nice to have something tangible, something you can hold on to, especially when life feels chaotic. But there’s also a simplicity in following Jesus that sidesteps all the objects and rituals, going straight to the source. To move us from making objects in our world into our god, and missing God Himself.

With Jesus, you don’t need an intermediary—no special stone or tool. You can go directly to Him for strength, peace, and connection. It’s not that created things like crystals don’t have their beauty or place in the world; it’s just that Jesus offers a relationship that isn’t dependent on anything else. He invites us to find peace and purpose directly in Him, not in what He’s made. Psalm 121 says, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” And following Jesus means you get to go straight to the Maker without needing anything in between.

Jesus’ Way: A Different Path with Lasting Fulfillment

For many people, chakras, reiki, and crystals represent a search for something universal—a way to find peace, healing, or stability. But Jesus offers something even more: a personal relationship, an invitation to experience peace and purpose without needing to work harder, align everything, or have the “right” tools. It’s a life where you’re known, seen, and loved just as you are—and then have the opportunity to experience forgiveness, redemption, and true  freedom.

Jesus’ invitation is simple. He doesn’t offer another practice to add to your day but an entirely different life. In a world where we’re often looking for the next thing that might bring comfort or clarity, Jesus offers lasting peace and connection that goes beyond trends or tools. His message isn’t about what we need to do in order to earn peace or healing; it’s about receiving a love that’s already been offered to us. His death and resurrection bring us the forgiveness, love, hope, and eternal life that we are all wired for.

Maybe that’s a path worth exploring? I’d love for you to consider it. Jesus once said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). So, if you’re curious or feeling weighed down, know there’s an invitation waiting—no rituals, no requirements—just a chance to find the salvation, peace, healing, and fulfillment that so many people search for. And that’s a promise that might just change everything.
