One of the things we love to do around Connexus is to serve. It's part of the heart of our faith.
We have a great opportunity to serve at the Barrie Food Bank this Saturday, January 7th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.. The job? Sort through a mountain of food (75,000 pounds!) the Food Bank received over Christmas (you can see some of the boxes behind me and Food Bank Executive Director Peter Sundborg).
The Barrie Foodbank is one of our community partners. Just recently we dropped off a cheque for $10,000 from our Thrive Christmas initiative. Now, we'd have a chance to lend them a hand. This is a great opportunity for your family to serve together, and it's a wonderful chance for small groups who want to serve in the community together to get involved.
If you are interested, please contact the foodbank directly. Marie would love to take your call at 705.725.1818 ext 2004. A map and more details can be found here.
