Ever feel like you just don’t measure up? We’re all there at one point or another.
We did something at Connexus earlier this month that blew us away. During a Sunday service, we gave people 60 seconds to write down one or two negative messages that playback in their heads.
Did you know what the response was? Shocking…
We ended up reading through hundreds of negative things people felt about themselves.
Here are just a few of the messages people said they regularly hear in their minds:
You’re so stupid.
You’re not good enough.
I’m not worth fighting for.
Christ can’t even love you.
I’m a failure.
Heartbreaking, isn’t it? To think that people go through that every day.But we’ve all been there in one way or another.
One of the greatest battles you face is the battle in your mind. But what if you believed that changing your mind can change your life?
At both of our locations this weekend, Carey Nieuwhof is teaching a new series called Playback: Changing What You Think About You.
Playback — Part 2 — Identify Yourself, Please | Carey Nieuwhof
Ever wonder where your thoughts come from? Sure, some spring from your childhood or past experiences. But could there be a supernatural force behind your destructive thinking? Jesus called Satan was a liar, and today we’ll expose the lies that get planted in our heads.

Playback — Part 1 — It’s All in Your Mind | Carey Nieuwhof
Ask any professional athlete. The biggest battle is never on the field, the fairway, the diamond or rink: it’s in your mind. In part one of this series, we’ll look at what you think, and why what you think matters more than you think. Changing your mind can change your life.
