See The Final Candidates for Logos

Our team has been working hard over the last month looking at different logo options for Connexus. The range has been narrowed from dozens to two strong contenders. As I mentioned in an earlier post, our current beloved orange chair is temporary.

So, below are the two candidates. Got an opinion?  Like one better than the other?  Still in love with the orange chair?  Let us know what you’re thinking by filling out this short survey.  We’ll put your comments into the hopper as we make the final decision by end of day tomorrow (Wednesday the 11th).  (We’re working on a tight deadline to meet a December launch, so thanks for understanding the narrow window. Still, we wanted to hear from you before we had to make the call. So, fire away.)

Want to fill out the survey?
Before you do, know that if you click on either logo, they should expand into a much bigger mock up in a separate window (if your browser enables that). By the way, the orange colour variation in the logos will be standardized in the final version, so don’t worry about the colour variation in the orange in the different logos.  Once you’ve had a good look, click here to do the survey.

Some FAQs.

Q.  What are we trying accomplish with the logo?
A. We are trying to do two things: create a brand identity that would be attractive to people who don’t go to church.  And secondly, we want an identity that is distinct enough to stand out from the crowd.  We want people to be able to determine after seeing the logo for a few seconds that it’s a church, and yet at first glance not clue into it as necessarily being a church.  By being different, we hope to draw in your friends who to this point just haven’t been drawn into church or to Jesus.

Q.  Why Orange?
A. Orange will be the main colour for Connexus. Orange is fresh, vibrant and different (it makes you look twice). Plus, in an effort to really reach out to families in our community, Connexus will be an Orange church.  Orange is formed when two colours –red, representing the family’s heart and yellow, which stands for the light of Christ in the church — are combined to produce a more powerful colour than either does on their own.  Orange family ministry synchronizes the efforts of church leaders and parents around a master plan to instill faith and character in the lives of their children.  For more on Orange ministry, go to www.orangeleaders.com.

Q. What do the three boxes represent in the second logo?
A.  I have no idea.  We just thought they were sweet.  Feel free to make up your own answer.

Thanks for sharing in this with us!
