In the 2022–23 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team, coached by Nate Oats, represented the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I. They played in the Southeastern Conference at Coleman Coliseum, finishing the season 31–6 and 16–2 in SEC play to win the regular season championship. After defeating Mississippi State, Missouri, and Texas A&M in the SEC tournament, they earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 1 seed in the South region. As the top overall seed, they advanced to the Sweet Sixteen by defeating Texas A&M–Corpus Christi and Maryland, but were ultimately upset by San Diego State.
