As things continue to develop and even seem like they are always changing, it’s understandable how you can feel anxiety and even panic. We’ve never experienced anything like this before. We’re with you and want to remind you of Jesus’ words in John 14:27…
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” Take a moment to let that truth sink in.
We want you to know that our staff is in prayer for you. In fact, if there is anything that you would like prayer for, feel free to send us an email. We are praying today. Here’s a link to a short video devotional Jeff shared that gives us a framework for facing fear.
While we are all limiting our in-person contact with people, we want to encourage you not to isolate yourself. Stay connected relationally. Now is the time to lean in! Head to Facebook and join the Facebook group for your location. Here are the links for Barrie, Orillia, and Midland. Our staff will be connecting there all week, and we’d love for you to jump in. If you are in a small group, please text, call or gather online.
Also, please reach out to those around you who may need assistance. Let’s be the church. Maybe someone needs groceries or just encouragement. Let’s be FOR those around us. Our staff are currently doing their best to reach out to the vulnerable in our church to make sure they have what they need. If you are able to help someone you know, please do the same.
If you are ready for some good news, here’s a fun update from Sunday! You created a wave of hope as more than 8500 people joined us online! To put it in perspective, that’s nearly double our previous high in terms of online engagement. We are hearing incredible feedback on how people have been impacted. You are creating a church that unchurched people love to attend online.
For the time being, we will continue to meet online only on Sundays at 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00pm, and 1:30pm EST. Our staff will be actively engaged in the chat rooms and comments on all of our platforms. Feel free to invite people to join us as we connect people in our online community.
A couple of practical updates for you:
Given the current circumstances, our staff are currently working virtually and our church office is closed. Email is probably the best place to connect with a staff member. Here is a link to our staff team.
Lastly, while about 80% of our donations are received online or automated, in a unique time like this your financial support helps us more than ever as we continue to reach people online and be in the corner of our local community partners. We are talking to them and want to support them moving forward. Our team is doing their best to manage expenses, and we want to continue to be FOR our cities. Click here to give now. Together, we will continue to move the mission forward that God has called us to.
Let’s remember the hope we have and look to share it wherever we can.
