We’re sure your online feeds, emails, and conversations have been full of information around COVID-19. We wanted to share with you our plan for this Sunday and ask for your help with something exciting.
In consideration of the public health concerns related to COVID-19 and your safety, last night our team decided that we will be hosting online services only this Sunday at 9:00 am and 10:30 am. This morning we have been working out the details for all of our locations to be closed. This decision wasn’t made out of fear, but out of a desire to be responsible and loving toward those around us in our cities. This afternoon the Ontario government implemented a restriction on large gatherings, and we were already prepared.
Jeff has also decided to put his series on hold and write a brand new message called Hope in the Face of Fear. He’s going to be sharing it as a part of Sunday’s live online services (which will include the live band). We’re excited and we hope it will encourage you.
Here’s where we need your help. We have an incredible opportunity in front of us.
In this unprecedented cultural moment full of unknowns, so many people are desperate for peace and hope. With cancellations across Canada, so many people will be home with nothing to do and fear in their hearts. We have the hope they need!
So, we want you to invite as many people as possible to join this Sunday’s online services. Share it on social media, send an email, send a text — do whatever you can to get them to join you. It’s going to be a special service, and we think God is going to do something powerful. Here is a link to a short commercial for Sunday morning.
After you invite them, on Sunday join our staff team in the comments, chat rooms, etc. during the services. We want to connect with you!
Also, here is a link to our Parent Cue app, which provides some curriculum and videos for your preschool and elementary kids. It’s right on track with what they’ve already been learning on Sundays.
We can’t wait to see what God will do as we start a wave of online hope across Canada in a time where our friends, family, and strangers really need it.
In the future, we will be doing our best to keep you informed and connected. We are also forming a plan for mid-week small groups and will be communicating with leaders soon.
This weekend, let’s share, text, invite! Let’s be FOR Barrie, Orillia, Midland, and all of Canada!
