Wow! We Certainly Didn’t Expect This.

Barrie Chamber Business Award 2013

Sometimes a moment comes along that you just never saw coming.
Ever have one of those?
Well, it was announced today that Connexus has been named as a finalist in the 2013 Barrie Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award in the community category.
Wow!
I just want you to know why I'm so excited this moment came (even unexpectedly).
At Connexus, we process everything we do into one of three categories:

Intimacy with God. We want to help you get to know your heavenly Father

Community with Insiders. When you're in Starting Point, Community Group or serve in one of our environments, you're experiencing community.

Influence with Outsiders. We want to influence the communities we're a part of.

For a church to have influence with outsiders isn't automatic.
One of the things I love about Connexus is how well regarded so many of you are in the community. You serve, not just in the church, but in many organizations in the community and globally. You work hard at your jobs. You're involved at school, in sports, in your neighbourhood and you are leaving a positive legacy in the community.
I really don't know how we got nominated, but my guess is it has a lot to do with that.
Thank you for being the kind of community that would even have someone think we are making a contribution to one of the cities we live in and love. Thank you for leaving a positive influence.
You can read more about the 2013 Business of the Year Nominees here. Congratulations to all the other nominees (including The Barrie Foodbank and Independent Living Services of Simcoe County.)
But in the meantime, thank you. Whether we ‘win' or not, you've already won.
I'm so proud of you.
