What’s Your Wish?

So I’m officially pumped because we’re starting a brand new series this month called “I Wish . . .”  You can watch the trailer below:

Here’s what’s got me excited:

We’re going to address some of the biggest concerns you have about God...because we all have wishes it seems like God just doesn’t want to address.  Check out the subjects we’ll be tackling:

I wish God would end the suffering…

I wish God would speak more clearly…

I wish God would put an end to evil now….

I wish God would show me the purpose of my life…

I wish God would save everyone…

See what I mean?  This might not just be great for you…it could be transformational for your friends. Who are you bringing?

We’re going to grant some wishes. We’ve already got dozens of awesome wishes that have come in.  I’m loving what people are wishing for!  What’s yours?  While we can’t grant them all, every week we’re going to grant a few at our campuses.  And if you don’t ask, we can’t grant your wish?  So what do you wish for?  Fill out an I Wish card at our campuses this weekend or submit your wish by commenting on this blog post and our I Wish Dream Team will get to work.  Who knows?  Maybe we’ll grant yours!

“I Wish . . .” begins July 17th in Barrie and July 24th in Orillia.  It’s going to be great!

    So,

I gave my guitar away to a really cool homeless guy while I was in LA. It’s a great story, and I’m glad I did, but I wish for an old beater guitar that I can play around on until u have the cash to buy a new one.

    Thanks!

I wish my wife and I were in a good small group.

Connexus has many great volunteers who give a lot of their time each Sunday. But I have been particularly moved to see numerous twenty somethings not only attending church each week, but being so involved in volunteering and contributing to create truly great experiences for the rest of us to attend. My wish is that I could do something to show my appreciation to these twenty somethings for inspiring me to be an active volunteer and helping to make Connexus a vibrant and relevant place to be.

I wish that my husband could find his way to church & to God. This church community provides a sense of inspiration & belonging for me and my children & I wish he would accept my invitation & attend with us.

Love these wishes. Thanks so much. Some are things people can do – some are things God can really only do (move a heart to follow him or attend church). We’ll add these to our prayers! Thanks. And our dream team will stay busy!

I have a friend who is a single mom and an amazing woman. I would love to be able to afford to take hercand her two kids to wonderland but can’t afford it. I wish for 5 tickets so that my sister and I can take them.

    Hey Tim,
GroupLink is right around the corner now; join us on Friday Sept 23 at 7pm, at the Holiday Inn, on Fairview Rd. Look forward to seeing you then!

    I Wish….

I wish I had more time. Not knowing when the cancer will stop me gives me a reason to keep moving ahead. Hope never leaves me.

I wish that tomorrow would be as good as today. What a day at church. The message and the music was overwhelming.

The comfort that I have been given from Connexus is immeasurable. Knowing that I am in God’s hands gives me a joy that never leaves my heart.

    Thank you

I wish my best friend was never diagnosed with breast cancer. She just started her chemo treatment yesterday and has a whole year of treatment ahead of her with 3 little kids. I wish I could help her out more too but she lives in Kitchener. I wish she could know Jesus.

And a simple wish :)… I wish I could enjoy a dinner alone with my husband without kids (helping, feeding, cleaning – love them dearly!) Maybe just moving my family here from Kitchener would work. 🙂

    And peace too.

I wish my house would perpetually clean itself. I wish I had a weekend to myself and I wish, more than anything else, that there would never be another hungry, sick or abused child. I wish I could protect all children and let them enjoy life without pain, hunger or fear.

Maybe I’m too late, but I thought I would add a wish, just in case.
I wish for a new pair of running shoes. Since I’ve started running again (after being sick in the spring), I’ve signed up for a 1/2 marathon in Sept.and raising money for a great program for girls ages grade 3-8. My running shoes are now 3 years old, and I’m definitely in a need for new ones! My 11-year-old daughter even offered to lend me some of her own money from her paper route! She has such a great heart! It’s just not in the budget to get them right now.
Anyway, just thought I’d throw it out there!
Absolutely loving the series!! The messages are fantastic!!

My husband and I are expecting our first child. Our friends & family have been so generous with baby stuff they are no longer using. One of the best items we receieved are 19 cloth diapers. My brother used them with my niece & nephew and I am excited to reuse them with our baby- great on the pocket book and fantastic for our planet. BUT and here comes the wish…they are in need of new elastic to fit our new baby’s little legs. Is there someone out there that can help? We have the repair kits (elastic & new velcro) I’m just completely inept when it comes to a sewing machine 😛 I wish our old cloth diapers can look like new again 🙂

Some great wishes over the weekend. Man, I wished I sewed. If we don’t find someone with a sewing machine, let me know, because I know of a really reasonable tailor in Barrie.

I wish there was a cure for Huntington’s disease, but Connexus cannot do anything about that (except pray!).

It has been a year of profound losses for my family, most especially the death of my father. My Mom also had to move far, far way from her lakeside home in the north, where she loved to kayak. I wish I could take my Mom kayaking in Algonquin Park.

Randall, I’m so glad that the music and services at Connexus have been a great comfort for you. I promise to pray for you.
