This Weekend @ Connexus | September 20th, 2009

We ALL know someone who needs a fresh start in life. In fact, most of us could use a fresh start in something – a relationship, our family, our finances, at work, in school, in a friendship, in generosity. Wouldn't it be incredible to see a new day emerge?

That's exactly what Jesus wants to do in your life. That's exactly what Fresh Start is all about.

One of the things I'm getting more and more excited about is that the very issues the Bible addresses are the very issues we all struggle with. We struggle with it whether we go to church or whether we don't, whether we believe in Christ or whether we believe in nothing. We struggle with it because we're all just people. The incredible news is that God loves people.

So think about the people in your life. And today or tomorrow, pick up the phone, knock on their door, give them a ride to the rink and invite them to join you Sunday as we talk about how God can give all of us a Fresh Start. If you won't see them, send them an e-vite here.

Can't wait to see what God is going to do this weekend!

Fresh Start
Part Two: Down

Once you see your past patterns, what do you do with them? Understanding is one thing, but Christianity would have you take it a step further: look down. Own it. Confess it. Turn from it. It's hard work, but this week we'll explore why it's so critical that people deal with their mistakes.

Fresh Start
Part One: Back
Whenever you want a fresh start, the temptation is to start a new thing. Don't like your current job? Begin a new one. Bad marriage? Find a new spouse. In trouble financially? Cancel the debt and start over. But what if the best way forward wasn't to simply move forward? What if your past was actually the gateway to your future?
