This Weekend @ Connexus | June 27th, 2010

Well after a great flip-flop Sunday, what’s next? Another great weekend at Connexus. That’s what. Don’t be late, at both campuses the band has a great opening song planned! Plus, we’ll be tackling some hard subjects in the Not Actually Jesus series – a great Sunday to invite your friends.

At the Barrie campus, Waumba Land will be 40% bigger starting this weekend! Awesome! For all of you who have been patiently waiting…thank you! And thanks to Jenn Bailey and her great kid-min team who got it all together. We’ve sadly had to turn away families for months because we were at capacity at 10:00 am. No more…so bring those friends with you this weekend!

Finally, before we share the weekend details with you, remember the FUSE event Sunday night. We would love every single volunteer who’s served over the last 12 months to join us for an incredible night of worship, communion and celebration. It’s going to be awesome. You are more than welcome to bring your family with you!

Not Actually Jesus | Part Five: The Closer I get to God, the More I’ll Feel It
A lot of people stall out or quit their faith journey because they get discouraged. Some just grow disillusioned because as hard as they try to get close to God, they still don’t feel connected. Isn’t it true that the more you grow in your faith, the more you’ll feel God’s presence? This week we’ll explore a surprising question: what if your spiritual connection isn’t always reflected in your emotional condition?

Not Actually Jesus | Part Four: God Helps Those Who Help Themselves
You’ve heard it many times: God helps those who help themselves. That might be true in another religion, but not in Christianity. In fact, the Bible teaches a radical alternative that might surprise you. Join us as we explore the radical and challenging teachings of Jesus.

Service Times: 8:30-9:40 am & 10:00-11:10 am | Galaxy Theaters Orillia 865 West Ridge Blvd.

Loved this message. Thank you so much. In sych with what you are saying, Carey, I was thinking about Corrie Ten Boom (a woman of incredible faith who was put in a concentration camp for sheltering Jewish people in Holland). Because of all she’d been through, Corrie usually strongly felt the presence of God. But for a period when she didn’t and despaired about that, she remembered Psalm 91 where God promises to always shelter you under his wings. Corrie reasoned, if I’m under God’s wing, of course it is dark there and I wouldn’t be able to see the way or feel or hear much, but regardless of this, I’m in the safest place possible, no matter what my circumstances might be. And that she just had to trust him until her way was made clear. Thanks again Carey.
