This Weekend @ Connexus | December 19th, 2010

Scrooges Welcome
Wow! Christmas is almost here. Our Christmas series is in full swing at our campuses. Join us for a surprising, compelling look at the Christmas story from a fresh perspective! Don't miss it at 8:30 and 10! Bring your friends.

Join us for Christmas Eve on Friday, December 24th. We have services at 3 & 5p.m. in Orillia and 3, 5 & 7 p.m. in Barrie. Details are here.
Also this weekend, you have a chance to contribute to our Gifts that Keep on Giving campaign this Christmas (for complete details, including a way to give in 2011, click here. We're hoping to raise $125,000 above and beyond giving in December to help Connexus advance our mission. Some of the key uses of this money will include:

  • Expand and enhance our pre-school environment, Waumba Land…making more room for kids at Connexus.
  • Purchase new cameras, enhancing our video experience at both campuses (our current cameras on their last legs)
  • Share 10% of all we receive with our local partner, the Barrie Foodbank and Orillia Lighthouse Christian Men's Shelter
You can bring your gift this Sunday, Christmas eve or drop by our office before December 31st to leave your gift. There's more information here on the Gifts that Keep on Giving and if you want to know how to give, click here.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Scrooges Welcome | Part Two: Why The Bad Get In (Carey Nieuwhof)
Everyone knows faith has something to do with changing your life. But how you understand how it happens can make a world of difference in changing your life. If God lets ‘bad’ people in by grace, do people just get to stay bad? Where’s the incentive to do good things? We’ll tackle an age-old tension this weekend.

Scrooges Welcome | Part One: False Divide (Carey Nieuwhof)
Most of us divide people into categories of righteous and unrighteous. We make ourselves seem more righteous by comparing ourselves to people we think are less righteous. Jesus challenges that thinking by including people on his guest list that we think have no business being there.
