Thanksgiving Weekend @ Connexus | October 12th

First of all, a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!  Without being cliche, I hope you will take some time this weekend to remember the ways in which God has shown His goodness to you.  Even amidst the struggles and hardships of life, we are incredibly blessed people.  How have you seen God’s love this year?

One thing I always remind myself: gratitude is an attitude.  The more gratitude I express, the more grateful I become.

I am grateful we get to do this again on Sunday!  I am really excited by this series we’re in.  Every once in a while a series delivers more than we were expecting, and I think this might be one of those.

If you’ve got a house full, bring them out Sunday.  Invite some friends too.  I know at the Nieuwhof house, we’ll be spending the weekend with friends and family, so it’s a great chance to invest and invite.

Here’s what’s up!

My Secret: Part Two – The Secret to Greatness

Most of us want to be great in some way, and often to accomplish that, we’ll try to be great at something. But some people transcend that and simply become great people. What’s the difference? How do you truly become great? Jesus modeled a different way of greatness, and when we study his way, we see that this is a greatness that’s accessible to any of us.

My Secret: Part One – The Secret to Happiness

There are moments in each of our lives where we feel quite happy. But a sudden shift in circumstances can change things in a heartbeat. How do you stay happy when things don’t go your way? How do you beat discouragement? Does God actually promise happiness? If He does, how do you find the secret to happiness?

I'm grateful for Connexus. I never dreamed before Connexus I'd get to go on a deeper journey with Jesus, having been the type of Christian who just sat in the pews on Sunday, bored and unengaged, and I thought that one hour of church on Sunday (on a good week) was all there was to Christianity. And instead through Connexus I got learn and grow in Christ and as an added bonus to meet all these AMAZING new friends.

I've experienced a great tradgedy this year and live with a situation that causes an ongoing sorrow, but Jesus has brought me through and I see him shining through it all. That is a lot to be grateful for.
