Well, our team departs Toronto at 10am this Thursday!
Last but not least, we are pleased to introduce you to the Guatemala Team Leaders!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve introduced you to the awesome student team members of our 2014 Love Moves Guatemala Compassion trip. Now, with the trip happening this week, we want to introduce you to the leaders.
All 5 leaders voluntarily choose to use some of their personal vacation time from work to lead the students to Guatemala. Each of them are committed to seeing the students grow in their faith, travel safely and step out of their comfort zones to serve and love like Jesus.
Please meet are our incredible leaders: Sarah Flemming, Linda Goodall, Sarah Dobson, Mike Reimer and Trevor Lester.

Occupation: Community and Family Services Coordinator with The Salvation Army in Orillia
Random fact about Linda: She’s lived in 3 provinces (Ontario, PEI and Alberta) and 2 countries (Canada and England). But now she loves the roots her family has established in Orillia.
What Linda likes to do in her spare time: Volunteer for my awesome church and community, run, coffee with friends and hang out with my family
What Linda hopes God does in her on this trip: As a leader of this trip, she is excited to see how God moves the hearts of the students. For her personally, she prays her faith will be deepened and she will continue to grow in her personal relationship with Jesus. She can’t wait to see how God uses each and every one of us!!
City: Barrie, ON,
Family: Wife to Steve and mom to Alivia (5) Lauren (7)
Occupation: Executive assistant to award winning mortgage broker, mom and wife
Random Fact about Sarah: She used to love the winter, but now that she has kids she wonder why she lives North. Most days she forgets she’s a grown up. She loves Vanilla Ice, Ice Ice Baby and think she dances well to that song but deep down. She knows she’s a horrible dancer.
What Sarah likes to do in her spare time: She loves impromptu family outings. The ones where you wake up in the morning and unplanned decide to surprise the kids with a day exploring. It’s even more fun with friends.
What Sarah hopes God does in her on this trip: The last mission trip she took God truly opened her eyes to himself, Dominican was where she learned to put her doubts aside and open her heart. He showed her what life could be if she followed him, loving Jesus openly and expressively. She hopes to see amazing growth like that in our students, opening hearts and minds for all the love that our amazing God has to offer.

What Trevor likes to do in his spare time: He loves to golf, he loves playing hockey (although he would love it more if he lived in California and could go the rink in his shorts and t-shirt rather than having cold skates and equipment all the time)!
What Trevor hopes God does in him on this trip: One of the key things we talk about as a team are the 5 P’s of which one is pivotal circumstances. He was added as a late addition to the team when one of the male leaders wasn’t able to make the trip. But he thinks that is great because he feels that for him this clearly a pivotal circumstance. So, he is so looking forward to just being part of this and being part of something that he knows will be an exciting pivotal circumstance for him and the students’ as well.
Love Moves is part of our student ministry that celebrates serving the church, the local community and the global community. We have a team of 14 InsideOut (grade 9-12) students and 5 leaders, ready to go serve in Guatemala! Thanks to all those who have been supporting us along the way. We truly believe that when we serve like Jesus on the outside, it changes our hearts to be more like Jesus on the inside.
The verse team is inspired by 1 John 3:16-18
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with
