New Series on Family Starting this Weekend!

This weekend in Barrie, and next weekend in Orillia we kick off a brand new series all about family.

We’re calling it Home Free and we think it’s a fantastic opportunity to invite your friends. If you attend our Barrie Campus invite your friend today! If you’re in Orillia, invite your friends to come out next weekend. We’ve got some really fun things planned and we’re sure it’s going to be a great experience for you, your friends, and of course, your family!

Is there any way people can get in on some of the action on-line? I am working Sundays and a lot of the families I am getting to know are in the same boat. It would be great to attend but for some people it just isn’t a possibility if they want to keep their job.

Yvonne…for sure. We’ll be posting all our messages online and if you subscribe to our video or audio podcast on iTunes, you can get the messages there. Beyond that, stay tuned for the reveal of Bold this weekend. We have some innovative ideas about how to help people who can’t make it Sundays that we want to tackle in the next few years. Exciting times ahead.

Glad to hear some innovations are on the way. I watch the messages on-line faithfully but I miss the music, the announcements and the fun stuff that often happens before the message. Thankfully, small group is starting up again and a teen that goes to Connexus is also part of Air Cadets where I volunteer. These people fill in some of the blanks for me.

I’m not being very specific about what I’m looking for. I think I would love to have an on-line small group where I could discuss with other on-line watchers what I’ve heard and the challenge of not being able to attend on Sundays. (My current small group members are all able to attend in person.)

Yvonne. Thanks for your comments. Those are indeed some of the features we hope to bring with the new online campus.

Glad to hear about Bold and some of the things it entails. I work with some women I would consider “one-bag” people. Some of them don’t have their high school diplomas, Others have done drugs or been in trouble with the law. They aren’t working a minimum wage job to get out of debt more quickly (like I am). They are working whatever hours they can get just to subsist. There are some lives there that really need turning around but getting Sundays off just isn’t always an option when you work in the service industry. It would be great to introduce them to an on-line campus (assuming, of course, these women have computers and internet access). They’re great people dealing with some pretty serious issues. ( In the past month alone, there has been a suicide attempt by one of husbands, an unexpected pregnancy and a fleeing with children to a women’s shelter. Yikes! If these lives could be impacted by the gospel and turned around imagine the stories these women would tell!)

Yvonne…that’s so true. I love your heart for the people in your life and work. So important that the church think creatively about how to come to people. We hope an online campus will be a step in that direction.
