Interesting Weekend, Wasn’t It?

Thanks for all the encouragement yesterday after the 10:00 a.m. service in Barrie.  Man, that was wild!

We're in the middle of a great series by Andy Stanley, On Location.  But we had some technical challenges. Andy's messages are played back off a computer, and at the first service, a bad cable kept us from getting any video at all until we were ten minutes into the service.  But the message rolled beautifully once it got up and running.  (Our production team is INCREDIBLE.  Thanks guys!)

We thought the problem was solved.

But at 10:00 a.m., 30 seconds into Andy's message we had full video but no audio.  I realized that we also had no audio during an announcement video we were showing, so I figured the problem was major.

So thirty seconds into the message, I began to wonder what we were going to do next.  So, I did what any other lead pastor would do.  I went down from the seats, wandered into the stage, and had no idea what I was going to say next.

Anyway, God really does give grace.  And I was able to do my own version of Andy's talk on the fly. No idea how it happened.  No intention of ever doing it again.  I'm glad I paid attention at the 8:30 service. But I just wanted to say thanks to God and thanks for all your encouragement.  And next week, our goal is to have Andy with full video and full audio. Imagine that.

Also wanted to say how encouraged I was to see so many of you not only out on a Sunday in August, but with friends beside you.  Our adult attendance has been so strong this summer that we'll be asking you to consider switching to 8:30 in September to free up seats at 10 at both the Orillia and Barrie campuses.

God is up to something, and it's a joy to be on this journey with you.

And now, we have another story to tell.  Love doing this with you!

We've been a mobile church for 11 years now. We don't do technology at the level you guys do, but we jokingly take pride in being the most high-tech, low budget church in town!

Seriously, it really is frustrating when you have those days when things just don't go right. Isn't it great to know that the spirit works, even when technology doesn't?
