I’m Rethinking This…

I’ve preached through a few summers in my life.  Usually you do different kinds of message series.  The crowds are a bit lighter, so you plan differently.
As it turns out, the two series we have schedules for the middle of summer are ironically turning out to be some of our (and I think your) favourites all year.  Man…the response has been incredible.  So maybe I just need to say it – if you can be there Sunday, be there.  If you can bring a friend, bring one!
In Barrie we kick off I Wish…all about how we wish God were different.  I’ll start with a message on why God hasn’t ended human suffering.  And, if you’ve been around, you know that means we’re going to start granting people’s wishes.  We’ve had dozens of wishes pour in over the last week or two.  We start granting them Sunday.  That’s Barrie this weekend at 8:30 and 10.
In Orillia, we wrap up Born This Way.  The series has provoked a lot of healthy dialogue and response.  And don’t be late.  The band sings something that I think is pretty incredible in the first four minutes of the service.  Bring some friends!
Whatever you’re doing to enjoy this incredible weather – keep doing it!  Such a gorgeous summer. Church this weekend is going to sizzle!
Barrie | Galaxy Cinema – 72 Commerce Park Dr. Barrie | 8.30 & 10.00am

Series Launch | I Wish  – Part One: I Wish God Would End the Suffering :: Carey Nieuwhof
Your mom develops cancer.  Hundreds die in an earthquake.  The depression just won’t go away.  If God is loving and merciful, why would he allow this kind of suffering?  Does he even notice?  There is a response to this, but you might be surprised by what it is.
Orillia | Galaxy Cinema – 865 West Ridge Blvd. Orillia | 8.30 & 10.00am (Children’s programs offered at 10.00am)
Born This Way | Part Six: Wait for It :: Carey Nieuwhof
If you took a poll, almost everyone would prefer their lives to be ruled by virtues like love, joy, peace and goodness.  But how do you get more of that in your life?  The bible gives us exceptional insight into that.  We’ll wrap up the series exploring how to accomplish what we all want to accomplish.
Baptism on the Lake | Friday, August 12
