Guatemala Team takes off in two days!

On Thursday morning, before the sun is up, our team of 12 students and 5 leaders will be loading up and beginning their journey to Guatemala to love and serve the city of Antigua for 8 days.

We are excited to share that through your generosity, the Love Moves Compassion trip has been fully funded! Thank you for your support, encouragement and care of our team.

Your prayers over the next two weeks are so valuable. We will be working in an Orphanage for children with special needs, organizing a community day camp, assisting with a building project, serving food and spending time with the homeless, participating in the local church services and more.  We are lifting this opportunity up to God, and praying that our eyes and ears would be open to all that He has to teach us through this experience.  Please partner with us in prayer for good health, strength and safety, excellent teamwork and open hearts.

We are pleased to introduce you to two more Guatemala students on our team!

Sarah

Sarah lives in Oro station and loves to study science.  Outside of school, Sarah spends a lot of time hanging out with friends and family because she enjoys being around people she loves. She also loves going to the YMCA to exercise with her friends.  A random fact about Sarah is that she LOVES hippos 🙂  Sorry Sarah – don't think you'll see any in Guatemala!  When Sarah is at InsideOut, she says she loves the amazing people and leaders there. The students all have similar beliefs to her which she thinks is awesome, and anyone can have questions about their faith without feeling guilty or embarrassed. She says the leaders are super supportive and go out of their way to create a relationship with her and make her feel welcome. Sarah truly hopes that God helps her really see how good we have it here and wants to grow further in her faith. She hopes this experience changes her as a person.

Matt

Matt lives in Shanty Bay right in between Barrie and Orillia.  His favorite subject in school is gym, he loves be active! Outside of school Matt spends a lot of his time hanging out with friends, talking to people on Facebook, and playing games. One fact about Matt that you might not know is that his absolute favorite football team is the Colts – he's a huge football fan! Matt attends InsideOut on Sunday nights on a regular basis, and the thing he likes most about InsideOut is that he gets to learn something new every week.  On this trip to Guatemala, Matt hopes God will be able to change his life by teaching him to focus more on God, to become more active and procrastinate less often.  He's going to make a great addition to the team!
