Get the Word Out for Connexus This Week

–>You could really help with the launch of Connexus this week by telling all your friends who want to be part of Connexus to make sure they definitely attend one of our two critical launch meetings in the next fourteen days.

Please plan on being at the Galaxy Cinema either in

Barrie this Saturday, October 20th at 10:00 a.m. or

Orillia on Saturday, October 27th at 10:00 a.m.

At these launch meetings, we want everyone who is even thinking about being part of Connexus to attend.

Here’s what the meetings will accomplish:

  1. We’ll share the Connexus vision
  2. We’ll outline the launch plan and timeline to launch
  3. You will be given a chance to sign up and serve. You will truly play a pivotal and exciting role in launching Connexus. We are going to spend November getting ready for our December launch, and we will need literally hundreds of volunteers to assist with the launch to make it everything it can be.
  4. We will also give you an opportunity to contribute financially
to Connexus. We won’t pressure you, but you will be given a chance to invest God’s resources in a very exciting venture for the Kingdom.
  5. We’ll do some Q and A, and you’ll see the cinemas as they were before our environment team transforms them next month and for Sundays to come.

This is your chance to get involved! So please, if you want to be part of Connexus, don’t treat these meetings as optional.  This task is bigger than any single one of us, but won’t it be a privilege to see God use all of us in this?  Man, I can’t wait.

We need you to tell your friends to be there.  Why?  Given the decision earlier this week to continue the Trinity congregation after both myself and the current Trinity leadership team resign, we really can’t and shouldn’t use Trinity channels to communicate our message about the Connexus vision (even though Connexus vision has been birthed by our experience at Trinity).  So, this blog is our only communication forum right now.

To be clear, we’re NOT asking you to influence people or change their minds about where to attend church.  Please respect the decisions people have made or are making. All we’re asking is that if you know someone is coming to Connexus, make sure they get to these meetings.

So, with those friends, go viral.  Email them, call them, send them the link to this blog, send them the link to this PDF with the relevant information on it.  And ask them to do the same.  That way we’re sure the word will get out.

Got it?  So… see you over the next two Saturdays.  Together, we’ll get engaged in this launch.  It’s exciting to see a vision become reality, and it’s happening now.  See you then!

P.S. Watch for lots more on the blog this week though.  Check back daily!

So when we get to the theatres, where do we go? Just walk in the front door and look for signs…? Do we need to buy a ticket? 😉

Just walk in the front door and we'll be there. And it's free, including the popcorn!

    Hi Carey,

For these first two meetings on the 20th and 27th – Adults only or can the kids come along?

WOW! Carey, I have been reading this blog for some time now and have read every single comment provided by all of the God loving people on here. I am awestruck. God is truly at work here in a way that is almost beyond comprehension. I pray for your ministry everyday since finding out about the plight of God's people at Trinity. I, usually to busy to BLOG, am called to drop a note on here. I am not a congregational member at Trinity. I do not live in Barrie or Orillia ( although I do live in the North Simcoe area ). I have been to Trinity for a service a few years ago and very much enjoyed it. ( I still have my monopoly money on my bulletin board in my office to remind me of the message that Patrick delivered ). What's my purpose for this note? My purpose for this is to let you, and all the people at Connexus, know that I am stuggling with a sudden sense of calling for your ministry that has come out of a vision that I have been having and that recently has become very clear to me. I am struggling with the notion that God has positioned me in my life, put me through experiences in my life, and given me some amazing gifts that I have been using to try and reach others about the wonderful message that Jesus has for everyone in his kingdom. My struggle is that, until now, I did not believe that there were any others who had a vision like I was having about how to reach ALL OF GOD'S PEOPLE. My struggle, like your struggle, turns out to be one of denominational issues. If Jesus intended there to be denominations why is this not written in the Bible? If man's creation of denominations was done so to reach all of God's people (and I pray that that was the intention) then why does it seem to be the biggest barrier to christianity as a whole?
Finding out about the vision for Connexus was like re-living a dream I had about a theatre full of seekers all praising God and giving their lives to Jesus that then free's them from earthly limits and bounds! All of this happens because the message of Jesus' amazing love is being delivered in a language that seekers can truly understand and that is relevant to our times. Jesus delivered for his time, why should we not be delivering for ours?
There is no comfort in my struggle. I would be turning my life inside out to deliver on this calling. The best part is knowing that I am not alone as I am sure that there are many of you who are sharing the same feeling.
I will be at the information meeting in Barrie this Saturday and very much look forward to hearing everything about Connexus. I am scared as God leads me in a direction that I cannot seem to control. I am scared as this Saturday could lead me into actually being a part of a dream that I believe God gave me. I pray for you all at Connexus and Trinity. I ask only one thing, that someone please pray for me.
    See you saturday!

Hey Lewis…bring the kids if they can handle a one hour meeting. It will be mostly adult information, but there is no "ban" on kids. You know how much we love families.

Hi Ace…I love your heart. I pray Connexus will capture many people's imaginations, and that somehow the vision accurately reflects what God imagines for the community. I, and many others, I'm sure, will be praying for you.

See you Saturday, and thanks so much for sharing your story and your sense of calling. Amazing stuff.
