First, if you know anyone in the Midland area who you think would be interested in being a part of the launch of this new location, we would love for you to bring them to one of our Midland interest gatherings. Second, we would love to have you join us for the Santa Claus Parades in Bradford (November 18th @ 6:30 pm), Alliston (November 18th @ 6:00 pm), or Midland (November 25th @ 11:00 am). I noticed we aren’t doing a Christmas Eve service in Midland. Why is that? Because we want to launch our Midland location well, we chose to focus on inviting as many people as possible to join us on the the launch (January 14th) at the Galaxy Theatre in Midland. There are lots of preparations underway for the big day! What does the $350,000 of one-time gifts for “Midland & Beyond” cover? These gifts would cover the initial equipment order and the operating costs of the new Midland Location (outside of staffing). In addition, it would cover the cost of hosting Christmas Eve experiences in Bradford and Alliston this Christmas. What if we raise over the $350,000? We like how you think! If we all step up in our generosity, this is definitely a possibility! If we raise over the amount, those gifts would be used to help us to create the financial margin needed to seize future opportunities in new communities. What about cities after Midland? How will we fund these? In this season, we continue to be surprised as God opens up opportunities to reach people in new communities. Having financial margin in our budget will allow us to move quickly when the right doors open. We want to bring life giving churches that reach unchurched people to as many communities as possible. Often Connexus gives to the Food Bank and Lighthouse Shelter in Barrie and Orillia at this time of year. Are we still going to do that? Connexus is committed to being FOR Barrie and Orillia, including our primary partners. We’ve got an exciting announcement about this coming on a Sunday in November. Stay tuned! I’ve heard Connexus is also launching church partnerships across Canada. What’s the latest with that? Yes we are thrilled to be opening up 10 slots for Connexus partners in 2018 as we want to help as many churches as possible reach their community. We are taking applications now. There is no cost for this for Connexus as there is a partnership fee that covers the cost of this.
