Do You Have A Truck?

connexus church needs a new truck

Do you or someone you know have a pickup truck you’d be willing to donate to Connexus Church?

Here’s why.

This past Sunday we said goodbye to a dear friend. The trusty and faithful Connexus truck pulled it’s last trailer into the sunset and then went to sleep for the final time. Unfortunately our much loved pickup truck experienced a mechanical failure that is unwise to repair at this point (the frame broke).  Being 14 years old, I suppose it doesn’t owe us anything.

As you know, a truck is completely essential to running a portable ministry. Our truck pulled trailers to and from Sunday Morning services, InsideOut high school services, volunteer training events, Christmas Eve services, the list goes on. The truth is, without trucks, we can’t do what we do.

Now that our truck has been put into park for the last time, we’re looking for another.

Maybe you have a truck you’re hoping to trade in soon, or maybe you know someone who may be willing to part with theirs.

Before we bought one, we thought we’d ask our community to see if you or someone you know has a suitable truck they might be willing to donate. (A tax receipt for the truck’s market value can be issued in compliance with CRA guidelines.)

Because the truck does some regular heavy duty hauling, and safety is a prime concern. So here’s the minimum criteria:

  • 8 Years Old Or Newer
  • minimum 3/4 Ton – 1 Ton
  • V8 or V10 Gas Engine

Some other features that would be very helpful would be

  • 4WD
  • Extended cab
  • Tow package.

So, can you help or do you know someone who can? If so, contact Justin Piercy at justin.piercy@connexuscommunity.com.

If we haven’t found a suitable donor truck by February 8th, we will initiate the process to purchase a good used one.

Thank you again for all that each of you do to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus. Believe it or not, even good trucks help us do that.

Thanks for helping us continue to be a church that unchurched people love to attend!
