Cindy Morris – Update 5

Friday, February 1st 10:30 p.m. — It was a quiet day for Cindy today.  No surgery.  The hospital was short staffed apparently, and it’s good news to know that Cindy wasn’t "top of the list" for procedures.  That’s actually a blessing to know that her procedures can wait.  What a difference from Tuesday.  So, she is stable and looking forward to a quiet weekend.  A reminder that the "no visitor" policy at Sunnybrook is still in effect for Cindy.  So thanks for helping the hospital crew out on that.

You continue to amaze us with your generosity and love.  It’s still overwhelming.  And your prayers are appreciated and needed.

Two more quick things.  A trust fund has been set up for Cindy.  Although she has good benefits through Connexus, I’m sure there will be extra expenses and needs and your kindness would be appreciated.  You can donate at any CIBC branch.  Here are the details you need to make a donation: Branch #00642 | Account: 2568535.  The account is under the name Cynthia Morris.  (Sorry for that one Cindy.)

Finally, people have asked a ton of good questions theological questions over the last few days.  Why do bad things happen to good people?  Did God "cause" this?  How does prayer work (does more people praying make a difference)? I’m going to be addressing some of these on my personal blog starting tonight.  You are welcome to visit, fire a question off via that blog, and join the dialogue there.

See you Sunday.

What a wonderful thing to see so many people openly declaring their belief in God’s mighty power to heal! People in general tend not to admit that they believe that Jesus still heals today, but we’ve seen that this is certainly not the case at Connexus! We’ve seen so many prayers for healing on the blog – it’s the start of something special. The outpouring of love from so many Connexus community members for Cindy and her family is awesome. Many are praying for divine healing to take place in her body, mind and spirit and I’m adding my simple prayer to these. “Be healed, Cindy, in the name of Jesus!”

I’m so pleased to see so many people posting on the Connexus blog this week. It took a crisis to get some people motivated. I used to wonder why the "Life Matters" blog was getting so many comments and the Connexus blog was not. Let’s continue to share the good and the bad experiences with one another. We can encourage one another. We can also request and offer prayer for other Connexus community members who are sick. There are probably many. Prayer can move mountains and God is listening and moving!
