What if you could connect better with your friends at Connexus and more easily introduce your friends who don't go to church to our community?
That's the goal of the changes we're making to our social media presence starting now.
Part of Bold is to build a stronger online presence and this week we're actually going to be launching a bit of a new era with our social media.
So what are we doing?
We're campusing our social media.
I know, I know…what on earth does that mean?
It means Connexus Orillia and Connexus Barrie will get their own Facebook pages. Ditto with Twitter.
And we're launching Connexus Barrie and Connexus Orillia Instagram accounts (those are both new).
While we are completely committed to being one church in two (or more) locations, we think separate social media accounts will help us because:
- It connects people more closely with the people they go to church with and the friends in their community.
- It makes timely conversation about the messages easier (since our locations are on different message schedules).
Here's how it's going to work.
Orillia will get brand new Facebook and Twitter accounts. Barrie will inherit the existing accounts which will be rebranded Connexus Church Barrie. The reason we're doing it this way, by the way, is that a check of our user base shows that the majority of Facebook fans and twitter followers come from Barrie. But we know Orillia will overcome this immediately when we create the new accounts, right?
You don't have to unfollow the existing accounts, but you can do this:
- Like your campus on Facebook – Barrie & Orillia
- Follow your campus on Twitter – Barrie & Orillia
- And follow your locations on Instagram – Barrie & Orillia
And please talk this up and encourage your team to do the same.
Not on social media? What a great time to begin.
And as for me? I'm liking and following ALL the accounts. And you can do the same if you want. 🙂
