Are You Running and Don’t Even Realize It?

If You Only Knew - Continues This Weekend

Do you ever feel like you’re not quite where you want to be?

Like you’re sprinting to what’s next, what’s bigger, or what’s better?

Ever notice how you never seem to quite arrive?

Maybe the issue isn’t what we’re running to, but what we’re running from? What if our quest for the next big thing was actually an attempt to escape from where we currently are?

And what if there was a better way?

So, what are you running to right now? Or maybe a better question, what are you running from?

If You Only Knew – Part 3 – Runaway | Carey Niewuhof

Because of our sin, so many of us spend our time isolated from God and from others. We run. We run because we believe the lie that we can’t be fully known and fully loved. And yet as we run from God, we discover something utterly astonishing. That while we were running from God, he was running to us.

If You Only Knew – Part 2 – 5 Self-Destructive Things Everyone Does | Carey Niewuhof

Is there a pattern you follow every time you mess up? There actually is. But what if that pattern actually makes things worse, even when you think it’s making things better? Genesis 3 reveals a 5-fold pattern that mirrors the exact pattern almost everyone follows… a pattern that ultimately leads to self-destruction, unless you do this one thing.

Hello Justin! First of all congrats on your new home and life with Sarah she is a genuine beauty and smart too:))

I have had to miss most of September due to family commitments and a wonderful opportunity to spend time with my husband and best friend, in Mississauga. BECAUSE, I am going for orientation for the Prison Fellowship Ministry! I have talked to Sarah and Andy via email about this!! Anyway, I have been watching online. Carey is great and I pray for his protection for his leadership, what a job and responsibility!! I am looking forward to meeting Toni. I prayed at the end that I need help to know what I am holding back on. I spilled my story out to Sarah when we met for coffee. But I have troubles witnessing and discerning God’s voice from my own wants and desires. It seems that When its in my heart to connect with my family about God an excuse pops in my head. Is this God asking me to wait or satan telling me what I want to hear?

I did not get a card because I was not at church, I would love to talk with someone about this and find out what to do . I am very shy and have given that to God, I have stepped out of my comfort zone by way of volunteering in areas that I think, I hear God’s call. Like Andy Stanley said in one of his sermons, to his Dad,”If I don’t hear God’s call to ministry can I volunteer?”, So I am trying to follow Christ by chasing Him, I know what I mean, I hope you do too:)

I get frustrated with my self and have tried so many times to give that to God, I turn from Him and keep taking it back every now and then. Failure is a trap satan sets for us to fall down and away from God…I keep trying, at one point I truly believed that God was protecting all His children from me. Pride, fear and believing lies kept me from God! I have been seeking to know Jesus now since 2009. I was baptized in 1994! I am still running but I thought it was toward Jesus.

How do I just stop trying and just be a genuine child of God…Why do I freeze up when I want to say something to anyone about my faith! I want to speak to people about Christ like I am a preacher! I want to be real!

Thank you for this! Thank you for everything you do for Christ. This series has been so helpful because it made me STOP and look at the issues and figure them out!! I am not there yet but at least working on this so important problem and not ignoring it!
