And the Barber's Are Home

So, after a long vacancy and then a long anticipated starting date, Dan Barber – our new Orillia Campus Pastor and Director of Group Life – is here.
Dan, his wife Kathy, their daughter Megan and son Alex moved into their home in Orillia last week, and yesterday was the first day Dan was actually in Orillia as campus pastor.  If you missed the Barbers in person, make sure you catch them this coming weekend. And, of course, you can drop Dan a line ([email protected]).
Some fun facts about the Barbers:

  1. Dan and Kathy”survived a 30 km race earlier this year…finishing it in just under 4hours.
  2. Alex, their son,  would rather be doing the rubiks cube then home work, his best solve in 20.47seconds.
  3. Megan would rather be cleaning dog kennels, walking dogs or helping people adopt them at the SPCA than cleaning her room.
  4. The Barber family loves to ski at Mount St Louis Moonstone.  Now they just live a lot closer than they did in Hamilton.

So what does a campus pastor do?  Golf, I suppose.  Okay, not really. Dan’s main job is to ensure that the mission and vision of Connexus is realized at the Orillia campus.  We want to see the full potential of our mission and ministry released in Orillia.
In his role as Director of Group Life, Dan’s job is to help people from both campuses find their way into a small group.  He’ll direct our Group Links, is in charge of starting point, and will come alongside group leaders to equip them to lead optimal small groups.
We’re so thankful that Dan and his family are here.  Please remember them – and our mission – in your prayers!
