So Glad We Get to Talk About This

Sex is such a pervasive and sensitive issue in our culture.  This weekend, it’s all we’re talking about at our campuses.
Our team has been praying that God will use these weekends to help people find hope and to help people make progress in finding real intimacy, belonging and freedom.  Plus, both services are going to have some moments that are just plain…well, fun.  (Don’t be even a minutes late for Part 4!)
One of the questions we keep getting almost daily: is can I bring my friend who are struggling sexually, especially gay and lesbian friends.  My answer is, I hope you do.  I want Connexus to be a community marked by grace and truth, and that’s the atmosphere we’re going to try to create weekend.
And to all of you who have been praying for our church during this series (many of you have messaged us to say you have been), I can just say thank you!  I feel the weight of these subjects and have prayed and prepared long and hard for these weekends.  My prayer is that God will do something profound and powerful in our community.
So – this weekend at our campuses, it’s all about sex (and our kids’ environments are up and running as always…so, don’t worry, we can have the conversation as adults):

Part Four:  Why is it so Difficult for Gays and Lesbians in the Church? :: Carey Nieuwhof
The church has been a difficult environment for gays and lesbians over the years. Why is that?  How can gays and lesbians find their place in the church today?  Is there a place?  Join us as we discuss one of the defining issues in our culture today.
By the way…we are seeing nearly full houses in Barrie again even with overflow open.  If your child isn’t in a 10:00 children or student small group environment, consider coming to 8:30 this week!

Hotseat Part Three: Why is Sex Only for Married People? :: Carey Nieuwhof
Why does God seem uptight about sex? Can’t two loving people just decide to be intimate? This week we’ll look at God’s design behind sex, and why he’s passionate about sex realizing its context in marriage.
8:30 & 10:00 a.m. Galaxy Cinema Orillia (Children’s Environments @ 10am)
And in case you missed it earlier this week,  here are our Christmas Eve Service Times and Locations ::

I’ll be praying for you and your friends heading into Sunday.  So excited that we get to have these conversations.
